I write to let you know that I had the most wonderful trip and to say ‘thank you’. Sandakan and the marches are impossible to explain. I keep seeing their faces and remembering the stories you so capably spoke about. The tragedy of Sandakan and the marches, of course, was that these men were reduced by their captors to the lowest denomination of life. It is necessary to understand our history. It was so good to have everything organised for us. Accommodation was good and the stays away from hotels were great. Your personal input to these arrangements and enthusiasm for the local people, their culture and well being made the whole thing so much more interesting. Thanks again for a truly wonderful trip.

Dear Lynette, Tham and the Team at TYK,

I would like to thank you all so much for taking us on our journey through Sandakan. Words cannot truly express how much it meant to me to have you take us along this trail and your professionalism and dedication to preserving and teaching a part of our history is simply amazing. Our experience is one that all Aussies should go on as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives and I could not recommend you and your guides highly enough to anyone wanting to go on this journey. The team you have is truly wonderful and I can’t thank you enough and definitely hope to return to Sabah one day soon.

Sarah Donald
